My 2015 Beauty Favourites
These are the products that I loved and used the most in 2015. And there are pretty much 1 product per category, like one concealer, one mascara, but there are a couple that have two products because I used them together.
Face Products:
Primer - Complex 15 Daily Facial Cream
This has almost the same consistency as the Rimmel Fix & Pro Primer 002 but it is more moisturizing.
I love this, it blends my foundation so easily and so quick, I don't need to do anything else and I will not shell out $20 for the beautyblender.
I always used the Annabelle foundation by itself, but because I have super dry skin it would catch on some of my dry patches. So I mixed in the Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation and it helps add the moisture back into the foundation not so much for my skin, but this combination works for me.
I used to use the Revlon stick concealer but that was too drying on my skin, this one is much better for my skin. And the ELF Corrective Concealer I got at the end of November for my birthday and I have been using it since, it helps cover my zits, redness and under eye circle way better than just using the foundation and concealer on there own.
I needed a new powder because the powder I was previously using made my skin look even drier that it already is so I needed a new one, so I tried this one out because I heard good reviews on it. And this powder is so good, it's not the cheapest from the drug store but it is still worth the money.
This is one of the first products that I got from Sleek and it came in the Nautical Collection, which I did a first impressions and swatches on. They are so smooth and they are good for both fall and summer. This was the only blush palette I brought with me to Fan Expo and it worked perfectly for me.
Highlighter - The Balm's Mary Lou-Manizer
This highlight is so pretty, I don't own the full size on it's own but it came in the Balm Jovi Palette and it's so beautiful. This is the only highlighter I own, I haven't tried any from Becca yet because they are expensive but I will try those eventually, but for now I will stick with Mary Lou-Manizer.
Primer - Hard Candy Eye Shadow Primer
I have tried many drugstore eye shadow primers and this is the best one I have tried and its only $6.
I literally use this every time I do my makeup. It makes the colours I use pop and it's just so good.
Eyeliner - Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl in Black and
Hard Candy Stroke of Gorgeous in Little Black Dress
These are the best drugstore eyeliner I used this year, they are both super black. The Rimmel eyeliner is the only eyeliner that stays in my waterline, my eyes are very watery and this is the only one I have found that does not move. The Hard Candy eyeliner is the black most budge proof liner I have tried. It's super black, it has a felt tip and it's only $6.
Mascara - CoverGirl Full Lash Bloom in Very Black
I used to use the Maybelline The Falsies mascara but I found the formula too wet for my lashes, but this is not wet at all. I don't have straight lashes but this mascara gives me both volume and length, and I use it on my bottom lashes and it doesn't smudge on me.
Lip Products:
Lip Balm - Vaseline Lip Therapy with Cocoa Butter
I have super dry lips year round and I have this is the only thing that keeps them hydrated.
Lipsticks - Wet n Wild Mega Last and Silk Finish
These were my most used lipsticks of 2015 mainly Rosebud in the Mega Last Lipsticks and the What's Up Doc in the Silk Finish Lipstick. Rosebud is a my lips but better colour and What's Up Doc is a bright coral that is just too gorgeous for words.
Extras
Brushes - Royal and Langnickel Love is Hopeful and BH Cosmetics Brushes
I got the Love is Hopeful set from IMATS for my birthday 2 years ago at my first IMATS, my sister bought them for me. These brushes are so soft and I have not experienced and colour running when I wash them. And the BH Cosmetics brushes I got for Christmas and were my first ever makeup brushes, they came in a brush set and it came with 30 brushes. I have not experienced and shedding with these and I have had them for several years now.
Body Butter - Fortune Cookie Soap Whipped Creams in Lost Boys
I loooooove this body butter, it's so moisturizing and it's not greasy at all. I originally got their summer box because it was Peter Pan themed, and I need everything that's Peter Pan themed. Now they don't sell any of the Peter Pan Collection any more but any of their Whipped Cream scents are good. Butterbeer and In the Loop are two of my favourites, Butterbeer legit smells like Butterbeer (which I have tried and I did not like it) and In The Loop actually smells like Froot Loops it is sooooo good. you can get a set of 4 samples and you choose what scents you want and the have 4oz and 8 oz tubes too.
Makeup Remover - Simple Eye Makeup Remover and Cleansing Wipes
Now this is the only makeup remover I have tried because it is scentless and my sister is sensitive to certain smells, and I do her makeup for her. I have yet to try other makeup removers, but these do a good job of getting my makeup off, but if I get the eye makeup remover in my eye it stings the crap out of it.
Bonus SFX Makeup - Wolfe Color Skinz and Ben Nye Fresh Scab Blood
I did my first sfx makeup on Halloween for my dad, I did do a practice one on me before I did it on him. I only did a small patch on my arm and this was before I got these products, so the entire makeup I did was only using Liquid Latex, tissues, face paint, vampire blood, the Wolfe Color Skinz and the Ben Nye Fresh Scab. I used the most inexpensive products to do it. I think the entire look cost less than $30. The Wolfe paints are appetizer sizes and the Fresh Scab blood is the small size. The Wofls paints helped get my dads skin tone because I didn't have any foundation or concealer that was his shade so I got these and they worked perfectly. I will do a separate post on how I did the look.
Those are my favourites for 2015, I hope this interesting to some people to seem if any of these products work for you, or to see if there was anything that maybe you haven't tried before and are thinking about trying. I hope you all have a good 2016, and I will be doing another post soon.
XOXO
Jacky
