Urban Decay: Shadow Box

Urban Decay: Shadow Box
First Impression and Swatches

I know I said that my next post would be a First Impression and Swatchfest on ColourPop, but I went to Sephora today to use my gift cards. I originally wanted to get the Makeup Forever Artist Palette Volume 2, but they were out of that so I went with the next palette that was on my list and that was the Urban Decay Shadow Box. The palette was $42 and I had $45 in gift cards and all I ended up paying was $2.45. I love Urban Decay, the Electric Palette was the first ever Urban Decay thing I bought and the first thing I ever purchased from Sephora and since then I have got the Vice 3 and Vice 4 Palettes and all 3 palettes have been amazing and this palette does not disappoint.

For the Swatches I will go across the rows.

Sin - Shimmer

Sin is a Champagne Shimmer

Indo - Shimmer

Indo is a Bright Emerald Green Shimmer

Bordello - Shimmer

Bordello is a Pale Mauve Shimmer with Gold Micro Glitter

Tornado - Shimmer

Tornado is a Vibrant Deep Purple Shimmer

Smog - Shimmer

Smog is a Deep Coppery Bronze Shimmer

Blackout - Matte

Blackout is the Blackest Black Matte

Flash - Shimmer

Flash is a Bright Iridescent Purple Shimmer

Mushroom - Shimmer

Mushroom is a Warm Gray Shimmer

Lost - Metallic

Lost is a Medium Metallic Brown Shimmer

Freelove - Shimmer

Freelove is a Golden Vibrant Peach Shimmer

Moonshadow - Shimmer

Moonshadow is a Bright Navy Blue Shimmer with Tonal Sparkle

Baked Cowboy - Shimmer

Baked Cowboy is a Golden Bronze Shimmer with Tonal Sparkle

So this isn't the most practical palette for everyone you obviously need to pull in other shadows but this a great palette if you want to have all of your shimmer shadows in one palette. Blackout is the most smooth buttery black I have ever tried. Nine of these shades are part of their best sellers and 3 are brand new, I don't know which ones to be honest because I'm not familiar with Urban Decays single eyeshadows. I definitely would recommend this palette just for the pigmentation alone.

BH Cosmetics: Take Me To Brazil Palette

BH Cosmetics: Take Me to Brazil

First Impressions and Swatches

So I have been looking at this palette since it came out and I could never commit to buying it because I generally don't like buying makeup online (even though its extremely easier) because I never know if I'm just going to be wasting my money or not. But when I saw this on Amazon I took the plunge and bought with my gift cards, and I must say I am not disappointed.

Swatches will go down the columns
Colours 1 - 4

Colours 5-8

Colours 9-12

Colours 13-16

Colours 17-20

Colours 21-24

Colours 25-30

So obviously this palette is not for everyone, it's definitely for the person that loves colour. Even if you don't like a lot of colour this is a good palette to have anyway because it has all the colours you would ever need. But obviously I love this palette because I looove colour so this is a dream palette for me.

Next I will be doing a First Impression and Swatch post again, but this time on Colour Pop.

Sephora: Color Around The World Collection

Sephora: Color Around The World Collection
First Impressions and Swatches

So I have been eyeing this palette for a while now, mainly because of the cities theme. I love geography it was one of my favourite subjects in school and the fact that they combined geography and makeup make its that much better. I ordered this on Saturday which was Boxing Day here in Canada and so I got it on sale, its regularly $35 CAD and I got it for $24 CAD. In this collection you get 4 palettes each containing 4 eyeshadows and 1 blush.

I will be going in the order they come in the box.

Starting with Paris

Swatches (top to bottom) Rooftop, Jazz Club, Perfecto, Pearl and the blush in Pink Macaron

Rooftop is a Matte Grey
Jazz Club is a Satin Taupe
Perfecto is a Matte Black with Shimmer
Pearl is a Satin Off White
Pink Macaron is a Soft Peach with Gold Shimmer

New York
Swatches (Top to Bottom) City Trench, Hot Mocha, Peanut Butter, Trick or Treat, and blush in Romantic Date

City Trench is a Matte Cream
Hot Mocha is a Satin Brown Taupe
Peanut Butter is a Matte Milk Chocolate Brown
Trick or Treat is a Satin Silver
Romantic Date is a Light Pink with Shimmer

Rome

Swatches (Top to Bottom) Panettone, Caffe, Romantico, Tiramisu and blush in Gelato

Panettone is a Matte Light Brown
Caffe is a Matte Brown
Romantico is a Satin Yellow Gold
Tiramisu is a Matte Deep Brown
Gelato is a Medium Pink with Shimmer

Rio

Swatches (Top to  Bottom) Coconut Milk, Cha Mate, Aqua, Tropical Bird and Bronzer in Enjoy the Sunset

Coconut Milk is a Matte Cream
Cha Mate is a Matte Light Mid tone Brown
Aqua is a Satin True Blue
Tropical Bird is a Satin Yellow
Enjoy the Sun is a Warm Bronzer

Overall this collection is very good and would make great gifts for people, they are mostly in the neutral category, some shades do require building up, but most have good pigmentation. If you do the math each palette costs $8.75 each which is a great deal (that's cheaper than some drug store palettes). I would definitely recommend this set to someone who is just starting out with makeup and I love the city theme.
